Solving Words and What to Do if You Get Stuck
Your first step is to look at the displayed letters. Then swipe a combination of letters to try to solve a word.
Let's swipe three letters to solve a 3-letter word like TAX or BAT or TAB. In this example, we need to find a 4-letter word that starts with B:
One 4-letter word that starts with B is BAIT.
You can reorder the letters shown in the lower circle by tapping the
in the lower-right.
When the letters ING are present, try to add the ING suffix to existing or partial words. These can form very long words, which are especially helpful. For example,
add ING to GO to form GOING. Or a word that usually ends with an E like CASE could become CASING, GAME becomes GAMING, and AIM become AIMING.
A few common 4-letter words include PING, TING, RING, SING, SIGN, and BING.
Similarly, if you see the letters Y, LY, D, ED, EN, ER, or IN, try adding them to the end of a word, such as adding EN to LESS to form LESSEN.
When you get stuck, try these suggestions:
- You might start by solving short 3- or 4-letter words before longer words.
- Take a short break, even if you look away briefly. You may see a word when you return.
- Reorder the letters by tapping the
button.
- With English, if you have a S letter, try to make the word a plural by adding an S (or ES) at the end. For example, CATS.
- With English, a few words have two (alternate) spellings, like GRAY and GREY. You can try both British and American spellings, such as METER and METRE, TITER and TITRE,
BEHAVIOR and BEHAVIOUR, COLOR and COLOUR, HARBOR and HARBOUR.
- With English, if a word ends with an E, try to add a D after it, such as LIKED.
- With English, try changing the order of the same letters to form multiple words. This can help you form more words faster. Examples include:
- ARE, EAR, ERA
- ART, RAT, TAR
- ARM, RAM, MAR
- ARTS, RATS, TARS, STAR
- PAL, LAP, ALP
- NUT, TUN
- ANT, TAN

- If you get stuck in a word of 4 or more letters, always try adding an S or Y onto a 3-letter word such as ARTS, ARTY, CUTS, ROSY, and so on.
- Many words let you add a suffix. For example:
- Add ING to GO, END, or READ to form the words GOING, ENDING or READING. The ING suffix is very common.
- Add ST or EST to form a word like NICEST or TALLEST.
- Add N or EN to form a word like LIKEN or MAIDEN.
- Add D or ED to form a word like LIKED or ETCHED.
- Add LY to form a word like BARELY or NEARLY.
-
